03 Service Description

Belanjo provides general financial education programmes for self-employed individuals and freelancers in Malaysia. Our programmes are structured as public educational content only and cover topics including income smoothing, reserve planning, expense tracking, and an overview of common financial concepts relevant to variable-income work.

Important notice: Nothing in any Belanjo programme, material, or communication constitutes personalised financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice. Participants are solely responsible for any financial decisions they make and are encouraged to consult qualified, licensed professionals for advice specific to their circumstances.

Programmes are primarily delivered from our premises in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Availability of online or hybrid delivery options is subject to change; please enquire at the time of registration.

04 Enrolment & Registration

Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment and a written confirmation from Belanjo. Submitting a registration enquiry does not constitute confirmed enrolment.

  • You are responsible for providing accurate and current contact details at the time of registration.
  • Belanjo reserves the right to decline any registration at its discretion, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.
  • Cohort sizes are limited; places are allocated in order of confirmed payment. Belanjo does not guarantee a place in any specific cohort until payment is confirmed.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you can attend the scheduled sessions at the time of registration.

05 User Responsibilities

As a participant, you agree to:

  • Conduct yourself respectfully toward facilitators and fellow participants at all times.
  • Not record, photograph, or reproduce session content without prior written permission from Belanjo.
  • Not share, distribute, reproduce, or resell any Belanjo Content — in whole or in part — to any third party.
  • Not use programme materials for any commercial purpose, including but not limited to delivering your own training, workshops, or education services based on Belanjo Content.
  • Not misrepresent your relationship with Belanjo or suggest that your services or views are endorsed by Belanjo.
  • Notify Belanjo promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use of programme content.

Belanjo reserves the right to remove any participant from a programme, without refund, where their conduct is disruptive or in breach of these responsibilities.

06 Intellectual Property

All programme Content — including worksheets, planners, journals, workbooks, toolkits, presentation materials, and any written or digital resources — is the intellectual property of Belanjo or its licensors and is protected under applicable Malaysian copyright and intellectual property law.

Upon payment, Belanjo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal licence to use the Content for your own private, non-commercial educational purposes only. This licence does not permit you to:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute Content to others.
  • Create derivative works based on Content.
  • Use Content in any commercial setting.
  • Sub-license Content to any third party.

All rights not expressly granted in this Agreement are reserved by Belanjo.

08 Programme-Specific Terms

Attendance

For multi-session programmes (Planning Programme and Foundations Course), attendance at all sessions is encouraged but not mandated as a condition of completing the programme. However, Belanjo does not provide individual catch-up sessions for missed content; participants are responsible for reviewing any materials distributed in their absence.

Programme materials

All included materials are provided in the form described in the programme specification. Belanjo does not issue certificates of completion. Participation in a Belanjo programme does not confer any professional qualification, accreditation, or licence.

Ongoing material access (Foundations Course)

The Freelance Finance Foundations Course includes ongoing access to course materials after the programme concludes. The duration and format of this access is subject to Belanjo's operational arrangements and may be modified with reasonable notice.

Programme changes

Belanjo reserves the right to make reasonable changes to programme content, scheduling, or delivery format. Significant changes will be communicated to enrolled participants as promptly as practicable. In the event that a scheduled programme is cancelled entirely by Belanjo, enrolled participants will receive a full refund of fees paid.

09 Disclaimers

All Belanjo programmes and Content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis for general educational purposes only.

  • Belanjo does not warrant that programme content is suitable for your individual financial circumstances.
  • Belanjo makes no representation that any specific financial outcome will result from attending or applying any educational content.
  • Nothing in any programme constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product or instrument.
  • Belanjo is not a licensed financial planner, investment advisor, or credit counsellor under Malaysian law. Participants requiring personalised financial guidance should seek the services of a qualified professional.

To the fullest extent permitted under Malaysian law, Belanjo disclaims all warranties, express or implied, in connection with its programmes and Content.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Belanjo's total liability to you in connection with any programme shall not exceed the fees actually paid by you for that programme.

Belanjo shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss.
  • Loss of income, profits, contracts, business, or anticipated savings.
  • Any financial decisions made by you based on educational content provided.
  • Any disruption to a programme caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to natural disasters, public health events, utility failures, or civil unrest).

Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Belanjo and its facilitators, employees, and representatives from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from:

  • Your breach of any term of this Agreement.
  • Your unauthorised use or distribution of programme Content.
  • Any misrepresentation made by you in connection with your enrolment or participation.

12 Termination

Either party may terminate this Agreement by providing written notice to the other. Refund entitlements upon termination by you are governed by Section 7 (Fees & Payment).

Belanjo may remove you from a programme with immediate effect — without refund — if you breach any term of this Agreement, in particular those relating to conduct (Section 5) or intellectual property (Section 6).

Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination of this Agreement.

13 Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall first be referred to informal resolution by contacting us at [email protected]. We will endeavour to respond within ten (10) business days.

If informal resolution is not achieved within thirty (30) days of written notice of a dispute, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Malaysia. Both parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

14 General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Belanjo in respect of your enrolment and supersedes any prior representations or discussions.
  • Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver: Failure by Belanjo to enforce any right under this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your enrolment or any rights under this Agreement without Belanjo's prior written consent. Belanjo may transfer its rights and obligations to a successor business.
  • Notices: Written notices from you to Belanjo should be sent to [email protected]. Notices from Belanjo to you will be sent to the email address provided at registration.

15 Changes to Terms

Belanjo may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Where changes are material, we will notify enrolled participants by email at least fourteen (14) days before the new terms take effect.

Continued participation in any programme after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance of those terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, please notify us in writing before the effective date.
